Long time no update! In my quest to find something to turn into icons, I found some really nice (and kind of hot) vintage sailor and physique model pictures and decided to work with them!

There is no frontal nudity in these, there may be a butt or two though...

8 Spice Girls Greatets Hits & Headlines Icons

I made some new Spice Girls icons. I used pictures from thespicegirls.com and spicegirlsfanatic.org.

They are made to celebrate the release of their Greatest Hits CD which is available exclusivly in the US at Victoria's Secret stores. It cost me $12 even. And it also came with 3 exclisive remixes of Spice Up Your Live, Wannabe, and 2 Become 1.

And for some strange reason, 2 of my flourish/ corner fonts don't work... I hope they do once I restart.

Tutorial: DVD Screencaps in VLC

By now, I'm sure that most of you have heard of, or regularly use the VLC player. What the VLC player is is a media player. It can play all sorts of audio files like MP3, WMA, OGG and it can play a great deal video files, the most common being AVI. Well, there are tons of hidden perks and features tucked away in this free ware program. Here I am going to show you possibly the most valuable: Screen capturing!

Steps:
1.) The first step is to load a DVD onto your computer. Just do that by putting it into the DVD drive. If your systems DVD player opens, just close it because we do not need to use that today.

2.) Then you can go to your desktop and make a new folder and name it what ever you want. This is where the caps will be held.

3.) Next you have to open up VLC player. If you do not already have it, you can get it for free here: http://www.videolan.org/vlc/

4.) After that is loaded open up the preferences/ settings window for VLC. Click on the side option "video". Set the "Video snapshot directory to the folder you created by hitting browse. When you have set that, click "save" in the bottom right corner of the window.

5.) After you set the directory, go to File > Open Disc. The open window appears. You don't have to do anything here. Just hit OK.

6.) Now your DVD video has opened. The next step is go to Video > Snapshot. When you click the option a small window inside your movie will appear. This just shows you the picture that you captured! (I dimmed the image around the little window so you can all see it better)

7.) To view your newly created screen caps, just open up the folder. They are all there in full DVD quality!

And that is all you have to do. If you do not want to go through the pain of using the drop down menu to make a screen cap, you can use the keyboard shortcut. For Mac users the shortcut is Option + Apple + S. I'm not sure off the top of my head what the one for windows is.

A Fish Story Icons

There is this video online that I absolutely adore. It is called Sirene Song : A Fish Story. Any way, you can watch it after the cut. Its only 3 minutes or so and won't take up much of your life.

The icons all have a thick white border. 3 have text, and the rest don't.

Free Fonts Galore!

I have found the gold mine of free fonts. http://www.showfont.net/ is an awesome site with about 10,000 free fonts for you to download!

It is defiantly worth book marking for anybody who uses Photoshop, Illustrator (or other graphic software) makes icons/ graphics.... pretty much EVERYONE!

Little Mermaid and Spice Girls (07) Icons.dd

My good friend Erik from myspace and DeviantART showed me these pictures of Ariel from Disneyland. I thought that they were really nice so, I made some icons from them. I also found a few other pictures on the net that I used as well.

And then there are a few icons of the newly reunited Spice Girls. Old-school Spice Girls icons should follow with in the week.

If you are interested....
For the icons, I created a new 100x100px document in Photo Shop.
I dragged my image onto the document and positioned it.
Then I duplicated the layer and used the Gaussian blur filter to 2.0 pixels.
I adjusted the blend mode of the layer to overlay, then set the fill to 50%.
And that is what I did to the icons this time 'round.

Welcome all to my new graphics and art journal Accio Photoshop.

Here I will try to get in the habit of posting some LJ icons and graphics, along with some art that I have drawn and wish to share!

The title of this journal may be deceiving, Accio Photoshop is not a Harry Potter fandom art/graphics community. I named it "accio" because I just finished reading book 7 and was on a kick! The Photoshop part came from the program that I use the most when making graphics.

Rules:
I have just a few rules when using my journal.
1.) Please credit me for the icons/ graphics that you use. I spend time making them all and don't want to get ripped off.
To credit an icon put this [ Icon made by: <lj user="accio_photoshop"> ] in the description for it.

2.) Leave a comment if you take anything, and tell me what you took.
